A homeowner who lives in Sacramento attended one of my public EMF Awareness presentations. She decided to be precautionary, and hired me to do an EMF Assessment for her 70 year old home located in Land Park. We both were shocked what we found in her home, which is quite lovely and modern home inside and out..
I found the usual EMF toxins like Extreme Concern levels of dirty electricity of 5,800 GS units and Microwave Radiation of 13,ooo µW/M^ at the desk in the home office but the truly eye-popping concern was the 15 mG magnetic field that ran 60 feet from the main power panel at the back of the house to the kitchen at the front of the house.
The Extreme Concern levels of dirty electricity was caused by energy efficient light bulbs, ceiling lamp ballast and computer power supply. The Extreme Concern microwave radiation was caused by the WiFi, cordless phone bases station, a TV video streaming device called a Fire Stick and the two SMUD smart meters on the bedroom wall. These EMF toxins can be easily reduced by choosing safe alternative technologies. Call SMUD to get the safe analog meter back on your house.
The 15 mG magnetic field ran directly under my client’s bed, master bathroom and home office where she spent much time. The image below is a magnetic field “Heat Map” of the bed: the top of the image is the pillow area and the bottom is the foot area.
Magnetic fields have been the topic of many peer reviewed studies and are associated with interference with mammalian cell devision leading to cancer and child development problems such as autism and miscarriage.
I returned to my clients house with my EMF electrician associate, Dylan Lecair, owner of Lecair Electric and we proceeded to trace out the location of the problem. This house was originally built with “Knob and Tube” wiring but most of it was upgraded with some outlets being properly grounded as well.
We found an electric outlet near the fridge that had the neutral wire illegally connected to the ground wire which is a code violation for fire and safety reasons and also creates very powerful and biologically hazardous magnetic fields all the way back to the main electric panel.
This small but illegal code violation exposed my client to many years of Extreme Concern Level magnetic fields where she worked and, even worse, while she slept. Please note that all lights and appliances worked fine and the problem was only detected and measured once I preformed my EMF assessment. 
When we fixed the code violation the magnetic fields dropped from 11 mG which is 2X the Extreme Concern Level to .8 mG which is in the Slight Concern Level. We were hoping to reduce the mG level to below .2 mG, which is the No Concern level but this was not possible due to the electric utility power line about 12 feet above and about 4 feet horizontal from the bed just outside the house.
