This was my first RF meter and I still use it today as a directional RF source finder on my EMF assessments. It is a single axis broadband RF with a range of 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz best used to determine the direction of an RF source. It does require assembly before use, is not compact nor immune to rough handling: mine has held up very well considering the amount of use it gets. It has an adjustable audio speaker to aid in identification of the signal source. Gigahertz Solutions meters are unsurpassed for accuracy and quality for the price. The HF35C will command immediate attention when you display it and people will be very curious: When I used it on passenger airplanes to measure the WiFi radiation in the cabin a pair of visibley concerned flight attendants usually appeared in short order. This meter is based on the HF35C with the addition of the UBB27 Omni-Directional Antenna which measures down to 27 MHz and pick up things that would otherwise be missed. It comes with both antennas. The UBB27 Antenna will provide you a much more accurate measurement of the total exposure your body will receive from all directions due to reflection of the RF from objects in the area. It is required to determine the total RF exposure when indoors where reflection is a major factor. Although it is an excellent meter I acquired and use the HFE59B RF Meter Kit described below. The HFE35B RF Meter Kit is a professional level RF meter designed for Building Biologists with a range of 27 MHz to 3.3GHZ. I use it on every assessment. With the included antenna signal amplifiers and attenuators it can measure and record RF power densities from 0.001 µW/M^ up to 2,000,000 µW/M^. In addition to peak and average readings it also provides the essential “Peak Hold” setting.
